DEVELOPMENT

“Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler!”

Albert Einstein

We conquer complexity by constantly enforcing simplicity, designing well thought out reusable components with no entity to be multiplied beyond necessity. These trading objects are organized and governed using canonical data models within a metadata repository (data about data) insuring maintainability and scalability across lifecycle.

Q8ML (Quadrant 8 Markup Language) is our XML schema technology that defines algorithmic trading data & services using industry standards such as FIX and FpML.

The self-adapting system and a canonical modeling approach allows us to build and change complex financial data structures and implement new computational analytics effortlessly; using a “one-click” code and artifacts generation from metadata, changes get instantly implemented without risky, time consuming testing and release processes.

Our research and investment philosophy applies the same approach we use in designing our robust systems and operating our firm.

We adhere to the principle of parsimony, or succinctness used in problem-solving.  The principle gives precedence to simplicity and it states that among competing hypotheses (all other things being equal), the hypothesis with the fewest assumptions should be selected.

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”

Leonardo da Vinci

This approach guarantees not only a clear understanding of our trading results, but also allows for an uncomplicated implementation of all investment steps related to financial markets and operational execution.
